In typical Texas fashion, it rained pretty good over the Memorial Day weekend. Did anyone's plans get (
cough) hosed due to the inclement weather? Camping trips cut short, picnics rained out, BBQs moved indoors, backpacking or day hiking trips turned muddy?
Justin and I were in limbo land for much of the weekend, but finally took to the skies on Monday for a "flight-seeing" flight over
Lost Maples State Natural Area and
Garner State Park. Garner looked busy, but not quite at capacity. Old Baldy looked terrific, and I'll post a photo soon. Lost Maples was near capacity in the
RV camping area, due in part to everything looking very lush and green out there.
I suspect Florida and the rest of the U.S. Gulf and East Coast are in for a rough and tumble hurricane season, though I hope I'm wrong. We had some severe storms rumble through from 2:30-5:30 AM here in San Antonio, and looking at the U.S. radar Florida took a similar pounding overnight. The rain bands in Texas and Florida are both still holding up. Offshore folks are no doubt bracing for the weather as it heads their way...
Hope everything's going well whereever you are!
