We are from the Corpus Christi area and go camping at least once a month. We prefer state parks to the concrete slab "parking lot" style
RV resorts, but we have stayed at them also.
"We" consists of my 6 yr old daughter, 10 yr old son, wife, and two dogs.
We camped at Goliad State Park last month, and this month (Nov. 17 - 19) we are going to Lake Texana State Park. On Nov. 18th the Leonid meteor shower will be happening, and the park should be a good place for the kids (and us) to see it:

We are also going to go camping in Dec. for Christmas, but we have not decided where to go yet.
Since the kids are still in school now, we go camping on the weekends and try to go places within 2 hrs away.
Hopefully we can maybe find other families here who we could meet up with and go camping.
