Why stop at a DVD player -- bring a laptop and you can play computer games, catch up on {cough} work, draft your trip reports and review your digital photos while still in the field!
We've done it a time or two (for the photo editing and trip report writing purposes) but it's a hassle and relegates you to car camping -- electronics like computers don't take well to excessive humidity and temperature changes. And I wouldn't dream of playing a DVD or game while camping though sadly I've had to listen to that while camping (as well as a FULL RENDITION of "99 bottles of beer on the wall". I remember telling Justin, at 3 AM as it was occurring, "I've
never, ever heard someone sing "99 bottles of beer on the wall"
all the way from 1 to 100!") Needless to say, we didn't sleep well that trip. I still need to post a trip report from that outing.
