Merry Christmas

I usually lurk on these forums more than post, but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all of the enjoyment I get out of this site. Merry Christmas, everyone!!!

Thank you very much! Justin and I want to reiterate our sincere gratititude to each of you -- lurkers and daily posters and everyone in between -- for making WildTexas.com part of your lives in some small way. Whatever your faith or beliefs, I hope that health, happiness and prosperity fill your lives in the coming year.

We consider ourselves blessed in many ways, one of which is in the wealth of information, excitement and passion you all bring here and share with us.

2005 marks the TENTH YEAR of operation for WildTexas.com, a milestone that has sort of snuck up on us in a delightful way. We started this website for simple reasons that remain true today -- to share our love of the Texas outdoors with others and document our travels. Yet we've learned so much from each of you, your comments in the forums and via email, and we consider you all a part of our extended "web family".

We will be doing something special every month in 2005 to commemmorate our TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY, but I haven't sat down and figured out exactly what yet. I'm open to ideas, understanding that this website remains largely a labor of love (paid for out of pocket, with some support from the limited advertising we run).

I'll start a thread soon soliciting suggestions for what you'd all be interested in. We won't be hosting any events due to time constraits with our primary business (Moore Photography & Design), but other options are available.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE.

Re: Merry Christmas

I must express my gratitude for this site and all of it contributors as well! Merry belated Christmas to everyone.

I had the most unusual Christmas here in Houston - watching very large snow flakes fall from the sky in a fury was quite the surprise!!! And a first for me. I have been in snow, but I have never seen snow fall. I felt like a little kid!!

We got itty, bitty snow pellets here in San Antonio, followed by about 5 minutes of very light snow flurries. The backyard birds here stood on the frozen block of ice that is normally their bird feeder, then started eating the snow pellets after they began accumulating -- their first water of several days, due to sub-freezing temperatures!
