Looking for a Nice Tubing River - Wild Texas Forums: Parks, Travel & Recreation

I am trying to find a place that offers a good tubing river. I really don't want to go back to the Guadalupe since we just came from New braunfels at the beginning of July and saw all the destruction from the floods. We went to Tres Rios park in Glen Rose and I have to say that the river there was quite nasty and hot!! The water was as hot and stincky as my surroundings. My bathing suit smelled awful and I floated in the same place. I was thinking of going to Park Chalk Bluff on the Nueces River in Uvalde county. Does anyone know about this river. Basically I am wanting a fun tubing adventure that isn't just floating in the same place. We have an RV so I am wanting to get away to a nice secluded place were we can relax and swim and tube and have fun with some friends. Any help is welcomed!!

Read this article from the Express-News to help plan your tubing trip. All rivers affected, with the exception of the Lower Guadalupe River, are open for business. Don't be fooled into thinking you have to let the summer pass you by due to the flood damage -- most businesses and parks dried themselves off, hosed off the muck from their welcome mats and are back to the normal summer routine!

If you want to get away do to some relaxing tubing, consider the Texas Hill Country River Region of scenic Uvalde County, located 90 miles west of San Antonio. We have five crystal clear rivers--the Sabinal, Frio, Dry Frio, Leona, and Nueces running through rugged limestone canyons. The Frio is the most popular for tubing, and tube rentals and shuttles can be found along Hwy 83, CR 350 and River Road between Concan, Texas and Garner State Park. The Nueces to the west is a little more remote, and just as beautiful for swimming, tubing and snorkeling.
