From our trip to Maryland, yes you can camp near there, we did the B & B this trip

Gettsyburg is in Pennsylvania, Harpers Ferry is West Virginia

Thanks for posting the link to your photos. I would love to visit Gettysburg and Harpers Ferry, as well as many others. We have visited Vicksburg battle field a couple of times and still do not think we have read everything. The historic battlefields, and the cemetary full of crosses nearby, makes your mind try and understand the living h**l that must have been to be there at that time.

It is an interesting park even if you have no interest in the civil war, this link Gettysburg National Military Park

shows a small fraction of the museum, which took us 2 hours to go through with reading (and I am no history buff)
:cool:, With Harpers Ferry, where you can cross the Potomic, Antietam and Fort McHenry all so close there a lot to see (and there's even more )nearby.
