Howdy from Houston

Howdy All, I'm CateyBeth from Houston. I found this site last week while looking for info on Double Lake Recreation Area, which I had reserved online but never visited. I'll report on my visit in another post.

I am a tent camper, no electric necessary (or even desired) who usually camps with close friends but will occasionally go solo. I camp on weekends so I stay within a couple of hours from home to maximize my campfire time.

I've enjoyed the time I've spent here so far. Thanks for all the great info and friendly posts!

Welcome to WildTexas.
Another good campground in that area is Stubblefield Lake, which is a bit smaller than Double Lake.

FYI

Welcome....we found Double Lake a little ruff for us,,but we are in a pull-trailer and usually get electric & water. Another nice place / short drive from there is a Corp. site called WolfCreek on Livingston. Take a look and enjoy the nice weather this weekend.

Cagle Rec. Area or Huntsville SP. Both nice, secluded sites, lots of trees, W/E.
