Justin and I met {drumroll} online, back in the days before the Internet and World Wide Web, roughly 19 years ago. We were both active in dial-up hobbiest computer Bulletin Board Systems (BBS), and we became best friends through our online messages and real-time chats. I was 14 and he 17 when we first "met" each other online, but we didn't even meet in person for almost a year. We definitely became best friends first, with romantic love building on that over time. I still remember the first time I heard his voice--we still hadn't met in person yet, but we chatted more and more (for HOURS on end, into the wee hours of the morning) and one night he seemed so desperately sad so I dug through the phone book and called the nearest likely number to his Bulletin Board System's number, which I knew by memory. Well, it was well after midnight and it turns out the J. Moore I had dialed was his SISTER. After some confusion and surprise at the late night call, she got Justin on the line. It was a very short call, but it was the first moment I realized I cared for him more than "just" as a friend.

We first met each other in person at Sea World of Texas, of all places. I used to spent a lot of time there during my summers as a teenager.

It boggles my mind, now, how we met so young and how our lives fit so well in every way. I don't cry in public, but I cried during my vows on our wedding day in December 1998 because we'd been together 10 years by then and it was so wonderful to finally call him Husband. That, and we didn't live together or stay over at each other's place until we got married (we both were slow to leave the nest, and still lived with our respective families), so it was grand to finally begin our lives together in a formal, tangible way.

Believe it or not, highschool, 1967. I was dating her best friend at the time. We ran in the same group for a couple of years and it got "hotter" in my senior year (she was a year behind me). Been together all these years and see no reason to mess with a great thing:thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: ! As a matter of fact, our 36th anniversary was yesterday:cool: .

Well, this is a parks and camping and Texas forum place, right? We met 38 and a half years ago, while we were both camping, at Garner State Park. Cool huh? We and our children and their children have gone back to Garner every summer since that long ago camping trip. I think I won the lottery.

His really good friend and my BFF got married and, unbeknownst to either one of us, began match making. It finally "took" Memorial Weekend at Toledo Bend at his company's weekend getaway (not exactly camping but we were in the woods by a lake). We married 6 months later and will celebrate our 22nd anniversary on Oct 27.

It's so great to read about all these happy couples! Justin and I both say we have terrific role models. My parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in June and Justin's parents are at something like 45 or 46 years married, now (married at 18 years old.) :thumbsupthumbsup:

First met her in the 4th grade when she came to the class to tap dance (YUK!) Didn't start dating till high school. This year marks 35 years since she put the ring in my nose, oops I meant to say on my finger.

We met each other in 4th grade also, Mrs. Raines class. For a 4th grader she had it going on! We just got back from the Oregon Coast were we celebrated our 22nd anniversary. By the way she still has it going on!

My wife & I were married on the 28th of Sept. We met on e-Harmony and we're one of their success stories.

I had lost my wife and she had been divorced for years.

They e-mailed Connie wanting us to send wedding pictures so they could do a commercial about us. Not sure yet if we will.. She is a Kansas lady & I lived here in the Texas panhandle area.

David & I met online 11 years ago!! This July will be our 8th wedding anniv.
It was hard telling our parents how we met since the interenet wasn't as popular back then but everyone thought it was cool how it brings people together.

We met 20 years ago at a New Year's Eve party and were married 18 months later. That was 18 years and one daughter ago... not sure which is more amazing: 18 years married or how fast my daughter is growing! We married relatively late (25 and 30), and it was a tad over 9 years before said daughter arrived, so we're still in the midst of child rearin' at our advanced ages...

As we will be -- Our daughter just turned 10 months on Tuesday, and today is Justin's 37th birthday. I turned 34 three days after Christmas (Dec. 28). Time just keeps on truckin'!
