Re: How/Where did you meet your spouse...

My wife and I use to work for the same bank. I use to make an excuse to go check the thermostat in her office as often as possible (as I was the bldg. mgr). Things started to work out and she invited me to lunch for my birthday and our communication started to improve. As both had previous been married, 13 years later we both have a combination of 9 grandkids. I know we were meant for each other. ( Time sure passes by)

Re: How/Where did you meet your spouse...

My first wife passed away after 27 years of marriage. A few years later I met this lady in Shreveport on-line. LOL We were married 3 weeks later. My kids about had a fit. That was 6 years ago. Things have worked out very well though, she spoils me rotten.

Re: How/Where did you meet your spouse...

I have really enjoyed reading everyone's touching stories, so I thought I would take the plunge (so to speak) and add mine, as well.

This is my second marriage and we first met each other at work. We both worked for Dominio's Pizza at the time. I was the day shift manager and he was my day shift delivery driver. So, he ended up marrying his boss! lol

Day shift at a pizza delivery place is usually pretty slow. Besides cleaning and doing prep work for the evening dinner rush, you have a lot of time to get to know the person you are working with. We got to know each other very well.

I was going through a very depressing time back then, as I had just recently left my first husband after years of fighting with him, not physically but the mental stress was overwhelming. I had gotten to the point that I couldn't take living like that any more and had finally found my nerve to walk out the door.

My future sweety was so supportive and good to me at that time. He always had an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on. He was always such a gentleman and never once try to take advantage of me in my emotionally screwed up condition. We truly had become best friends.

After 6 months, we moved in together - strictly as house mates - for economical reasons. Absolutely nothing romantic or sexual was going on between us. After 4 months of being house mates, he very politely asked me if it would be alright for him to take me out on a date for my birthday.

That was the beginning of our romantic relationship. It took him another 6 months to talk me into marrying him. lol There were several issues he had to convince me of before I finally relented and accepted his proposal, the biggest ones being that he is 10 years younger than I am, had never been married before and had no children.

When I met him, I was already 39 & had 2 kids - one in high school and one in college and was not going to have any more children. I wanted to make real sure that the age difference and him not having children of his own was never going to be a factor for him.

As it turns out, these points have never been a factor for him. He loves my kids as if they were his own. Since he has been a part of my life, my daughter has had 2 daughters of her own. Those girls are "his babies" (even though they are now 8 & 9) and you would never know that he his not blood related to them.

We have been together now for right at 10 years and married for 8 come May. He is still just as sweet and caring as always and we get along so well together. I am still amazed at how well we get along and rarely do we even have a disagreement about anything. We NEVER yell at each other! So much different from my first marriage.

I am truly blessed to have married such a wonderful man and I tell him that often. He still makes me feel like a teenager and we have so much fun together.

And that's my story on the subject......sorry it got kinda long! ha! ha!

Blessings to All,
Cheyenne

I met my wife at a club (Cowboys) in Arlington. We were married one year later and now with three kids (1 girl and 2 boys) we will be celebrating our 13th anniversery this October.

Re: How/Where did you meet your spouse...

My wife and I met through one of the phone chat lines about 10 years ago. She was stuck at home after an accident, and I was bored. We met, 6 months later were engaged and 9 months after that we were married.

Best decision I ever made!
