I'm going to pop the hood on this beast (the website) and start mucking around in there in the next several days. I'll try to keep the amount of flying oil and debris to a minimum, but just in case you happen to get spattered, my apologies beforehand.

You won't probably see any noticable changes during this inital wave of upgrades, since it's just to get all our software/infrastructure up-to-date and ready for more extensive work (a site-wide redesign.) We're 11 years old and have been running with this design for almost that entire span of time.

Don't worry -- ease of use remains in the forefront. If you have any requests, things that annoy you about where/how information's laid out here, do chime in or drop me an email at:

Got pushed back a couple days... we had painters out to do some work on our house over the weekend, so I won't be kicking off this effort until Monday.

You may have noticed (or be noticing) some wonky behaviors on the site today and tomorrow (Friday, June 16). I've updated the forum software but have customizations to reapply. So, wear your hard hats and eye covering for the next couple days, 'k?

Feels great to hear that WildTexas is getting some much deserved TLC. Don't have a hard hat though, will a bicycle helmet suffice?

Bicycle helmet and eye protection (glasses/sunglasses) will do in a pinch!

Latest news is I am trying to find a better (faster, more reliable) "Recent Discussions" feature for the main menu because the new one as most of you have probably noticed is S-L-O-W and weird about which threads it decides are *new*.

Unfortunately, the old code we were using no longer works with the new version of the discussion forum software, or we'd happily revert back to that one.
... FIXED! ...

Same problem with the Your Photos Gallery and newly uploaded images -- the new version of the photo gallery is a little temperamental and not showing new photos on the main page.

Should have a solution to both issues in the next day or so, and can resume my revamping efforts.
