sadly, yes.. I need to be outside a lot to be happy. i used to work in the field a lot back home just because it was better than working in my office. in texas, theres no field work (no job), and i've noticed that getting outside for a little recreation is way harder than it was in new england- you have to look a lot harder for it, and drive a lot further to get to it. I doubt I would have found much to do had it not been for this site =)

Hey kai

Field work and New England? May I inquire where in New England and what type of work...........my job takes me to New England and Canada fairly often, but due to cut backs not lately.

sure- I was an environmental consultant- working mostly with petroleum and chemical releases to soil and groundwater in eastern mass. most of the time i worked in the suburbs around boston, a little on the cape, and a little in western mass. i loved being outside in the field- hated the days where i had to go into the office to actually write the reports... i loved going to the different sites, and having an excuse to be outside all day (now, i'm outside all day, and i have to answer that 'why?' question from other people - becuase I want to apparently isnt good enough =) ).

what is it you do? you don't have to say where you work, but are you in a similar line of work?
