Red face Don't You Hate A/C...

...when it doesn't!!!

Found that the house was about 4 degrees warmer then it should have been. Checked and found that the outside unit was just sitting there looking "dead". Checked everything I could and found no reason for the problem. Turned the whole thing "off" and left it that way for about 15 minutes and then turned back "on". Outside unit running again ! House cools back down, system shuts "off", problem solved:cool: ! Thermostat says it's time to turn "on" again. Inside unit fires up, outside unit looks "dead" again:confused:. Call repair man first thing in the morning . I'M SOOO GLAD WE'RE NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF "SUPER-SUMMER" .

Happy Camping!

Silence is not golden when you are talking about the A/C condensor. Like you said, at least it is not August.

Re: Don't You Hate A/C...

Worse yet, because of all of yesterday's rain, my A/C man is a day "down" and won't be able to get to me until tomorrow. And I was going to go fishing in the morning:mad: . Shucks!

Happy Camping!

Re: Don't You Hate A/C...

Boy, we sure didn't need the A/C today!!! A wonderful day with the temps in the mid to high 70s and very low humidity. It's getting a bit chilly out there now. Tomorrow and Friday look to be the same. Will cut the grass and work on the "5th" a bit in the morning while the A/C man is here and then take the boat out and do some fishing on Friday morning. Hard to find a better life:cool: ! I am well blessed .

Happy Camping!

Re: Don't You Hate A/C...

Well, the A/C man got here about 9AM and checked the system. Of course, it wouldn't repeat the fault and he couldn't find anything wrong. He did do a complete system check, furnace and all and changed out one time delay relay on the outside unit. Stated that it's very common for this thing to get real sensitve as it ages. We'll wait and see what happens. We did get the yard all cleaned up and I'm going fishing in the morning no matter what happens.

Re: Don't You Hate A/C...

Well, ran it most of the day yesterday with no issues so I'm thinking it's fixed:laugh: .

I've had that problem twice when fire ants inhabited the relay.

Nope but didn't even try. Just paddled and enjoyed that. Those that were fishing weren't catching so I don't feel that I missed a thing.

BTW: I went out to Benbrook Lake that morning. Water was pretty high and a number of the parks were "closed" or had limited access/use. South end of the lake was particularly muddy with a good bit of debris in the water and on the shore. Only boat ramp I found to be open was the little one just off of Dirk's Road near the "Corps Office". That was Friday so things may have improved by now. Should have posted this info Friday afternoon but it just didn't occur to me:rolleyes:. Sorry.

Happy Camping!
