Calling All Austinites!

My brother needs to relocate to Austin soon for a new job (retail manager @ a shoe store). We don't know the location of his store yet, but his lease here in San Antonio is up one day after his training ends -- 30 days from now, and he's hoping to have a place in Austin lined up by then. Optimistic, I know. Barring the ability to convince him to switch to a month-to-month apartment lease here in S.A., to buy himself more time, here's the deal...

I'm seeking recommendations and advice on potentially good relocation areas in Austin for a 29-year-old single man who'll be working full time but is a talented artist and would appreciate having easy access to same. If that's too much of a stretch, just focus on the 29 and single part -- meaning, he's aiming at a comfortable but affordable apartment, not a home (rental or ownership).

Thanks, gang!

Re: Calling All Austinites!

Hey Shannon,

The fact is that in Austin, traffic is the beast that must be tamed. There are apartment complexes all over this town.. yuck.

Your brother might find that the current management company of his apartment has properties in Austin and can make an easy transition, but the most important thing is for him to know where he is working and then rent as closely as he can, IMO.

Adios,
