Talking 4 Inches...

...in my rain gage since yesterday evening and it is still coming down. I know this is putting a damper on many peoples' plans for this weekend but we sure do need the rain after the last two years. Hope all will forgive my joy and try to enjoy the rain.

BTW: I have a camping trip planned for Tuesday thru Friday and it looks like we'll be rained out as well.

Happy Camping (or not:rolleyes!

Re: 4 Inches...

We've not had any rain in the Longview/Tyler area where I live the last couple of days, but I've recorded 24.25 inches so far since January 1. I'm happy about that. Still, we camped at Lake Bob Sandlin last weekend and it is still way, way down. Many other area lakes are looky rather healthy, though.

Re: 4 Inches...

As far as I know, all the lakes in the north central area are full and over the spillways. Hasn't been any significant flooding that I know of and if the rain keeps coming as they are predicting, we should be OK as far as that goes. Not only has it filled the lakes, it is keeping the temps down. We've only hit 90 degrees once so far this year and the weather man says we won't again before the end of the month. I can live with that. Sure am happy to see an end to our drought.

Happy Camping!
