Question Are there anymore Crappie in Calaveras/Braunig Lake ?

Has anyone caught any crappie at Calaveras/Braunig lake ???
I have been fishing Calaveras for almost 15 years and have NEVER caught one nor seen anyone else with any.
The most recent stocking report for white crappie was in 2004 for Calaveras.

Re: Are there anymore Crappie in Calaveras/Braunig Lake ?

Hello,
I have been fishing at Calaveras Lake for a couple of years now and I've never caught one myself. I usually try to catch cats, reds and stripers. If I hear of anyone catching any, or even myself, I'll let you know ASAP. Good luck!

Re: Are there anymore Crappie in Calaveras/Braunig Lake ?

A really good friend of mine has been fishing Calaveras for about 40+ years. He said at on time Calaveras was full of Crappie, But theses days they are very few and far between.

Crappie are few and far between. I caught one a few years ago in the reeds down by the dam while waiting for the reds to make a run. I was using a yellow rooster tail for Bass. Go figure.
