Need Your Help - South Dallas

Hey everyone, I need your help. I live in South Dallas (Duncanville) and I am wanting to take my 9 yr old fishing. I have been to Joe Pool and I just can't find a decent place to fish without having a boat. I would also rather take him to a pond or creek somewhere where we could actually catch something from the bank. Does anyone know of any great hidden treasures in our area anywhere? We have a little pond close to our neighborhood that is usually small but has swollen with all the rain. We were there this last Wednesday (07/04) night and it is just absolutely dead, not to mention all the unwanted trash, drug baggies and other unmentionables thrown in and around it due to it's location and the neighborhood it is located behind.

I would really appreciate any help with a location and also what to take with me a far as bait if you know any tips.

Thanks from Duncanville.

Try this:

TPWD

Also, remember that fishing is best when its cool (in am and pm) not during the heat of the day.

Have you tried Mountain Creek Lake off of US80, we used to catch Blue and Channel Cats there in the summertime of the bank.Good luck and we used worms and cut bait.
