Im lookin for a good bait for calaveras. Trying to catch catfish in the day and night. what works good there for both times live baits and other bait ideas are welcome. and the name or ingredients of a good punch bait (home made or not). also looking for some tips for catfish locations for fishing off the bank.

Hey Brother,
In this Order my Fav Cat baits for Calaveras are, Big Marvs Cheese Punch bait, Shrimp, Fresh dead Shad, and liver. I would use some sour gain, milo/wheat chum. If you can Chum your area a day or so before you plan on fishing but if you can't it will still help the same day. Don't worry about casting way out in the lake, most of the cats we catch are very shallow, 1' to 3' deep. along the banks. I'm not to sure where would be the best spot for ypou to post up and fish. If you would like feel free to call me 830-928-0064 and I'll tell you almost everything I know, so you and your father can have a better chance of catching some cats.
