Choke Canyon 4,5,6 2007 Report

Very Good weekend at Choke guys. 225 fish cleaned and at least that many returned to catch another day.

Fri., was a scout day with 50 fish cleaned and put away for a Mothers Day fish fry, all fish caught from about 30' of water on punch bait, fish from about 8:30a till about 4:00p.

Sat., 4 guys, this was a donated trip, 100 catfish caught, 50 from about 30' of water and the other 50 from about 2' of water, all fish caught on punch bait, fished from 8:00a til about 3:30p.

Sun, 3 Electricians from Kerrville, These were some good ol' boys 75 fish all fish caught on punch bait in about 2'of water, fished from 7:30a till 1:30p.

Choke Canyon Catfishing is HOT right now boys, ya'll need to get you some.

Sun.

Wasn't that a wonderful campground? We went there in January, but I bet it is more beautiful now.

Did you fish by the warm water outlet? Someone told me that's where the bigguns hole up, but it looks like y'all go all the bigguns.

There is no warm water outlet at Choke my friend, Choke is a reservoir for Corpus Christi. We caught most of these fish in very shallow water 3' or less on punch bait under a cork. The wind was blowing about 18-20 mph and the banks we were fishing were all wind blown.

This was one of our favorite SP's when we lived in the RGV. Too bad they closed the pool though.
