Somewhere with springs that are flowing. This is one hot summer.
My blog has lots of information about Texas travel. Visit if you like.

Re: First Location?
When do ya'll plan on a get to together? We'll try to make it, wife started her new job this past week-- going from weekly pay to monthly pay( gotta readjust that pesky bill paying thing). May be september before we can go out camping very far from home. Cant wait to go up around Austin and checkout some of the waterfalls.

Re: First Location?
OK, suggestions please. Here's mine: Krause Springs (Spicewood), Perdanales Falls (never been), somewhere around Barton Springs?

Barton Springs is in Austin and you cannot camp there. Krause Springs sounds good to me.

Re: First Location?
Okay, please don't think I'm an idiot...and it has been a long hot day...but where am I? I did a search for "Krause" because I'm super interested in going there soon, and I see that a conversation has been started about the Wild Texans Camping Club going there. But when I just click into the forums to see wassup, I don't see the trail that gets me here: Parks, then Wild Texans Camping Club, then Regional Groups, then Hill Country, then First location.
What am I doing wrong? I remember Shannon was going to set us up as a forum that's separate, or something. Someone please help! I want to be in the club and don't want to miss out on the conversations.
Thanks! ~Amy

Re: First Location?
Well, I guess I've figured out that I need to bookmark the Wild Texans vs the normal Wild Texas site. Why no link from the main site?

Re: First Location?
If you go to the "Home" page of Wild Texas, you can see a dark blue link to our great club to the right of the tiger picture.
I couldn't find it at first either. So don't feel bad!!

Re: First Location?
No one apparently actually reads web pages... (It's actually a proven fact, and the bane of all web developers' existence! )
I guess you guys want a navigation button in the left nav or something. I will have to think about that. Maybe it'd link to our (still offline) directory of Texas outdoors clubs, but with the Wild Texans Camping Club featured at the top of the page, prominently. It needs to be more than "just" the club to appeal to people all over Texas and who are interested in not just camping but other outdoors pursuits (mountain biking, hiking, fishing, boating, hunting, etc.) That keeps it true to our theme and worthy of being incorporated into our site-wide navigation.
Will work on it. Got software updates to do across three websites right now.

Wanna plan something? Since I've never been to a single Texas state park, I feel I'm not qualified to do this. I wouldn't even know what to do.
Anyone with experience, please feel fee to speak up with ideas!!

Okay, sorry- I didn't know the picture on the home page is a slide show. But the link is right next to the great Texas photography.

What you are referring to is the main Wild Texas "Your Photos" gallery. The Wild Texans Camping Club has its own section in the photo gallery, accessible from the Wild Texans Camping Club page (see below).
The link others are referring is right below the "Recent Discussions" section on the homepage:
Here is what it looks like ...
The Wild Texans Camping Club is now forming!
I'm sensing that most everyone skips over the homepage. Where would you expect to find the Camping Club on WildTexas.com -- is there someplace you're all looking for it that I can add it, and if so explain your reasoning so I can determine if that will work with the site's architecture/design.
Thanks!
