My daughters scout troup use the Garmin Etrex Legend C,since she already knows some of it's uses, should we start her on this, are is there a more kid friendly one to try.Thanks

I recently bought a Garmin eTrex Vista Cx. I think both the Legend and the Vista are good GPS's. If her troop is using the Legend, then that might be the way to go since she has knowledge of how to use it already and she can draw on the collective experiences and knowledge of the troop members who have been using it.

You can also check into the yahoo groups and I know there is a Legend group there where she can subscribe and ask questions and even answer other user's questions about using the Legend.

If you/they are doing geocaching with the GPS, have fun with it. I just started playing with it and am now up to about 35 'finds' so far. Check www.geocaching.com. You can search for geocaches in any locale (I generally just use my zip code).
