Angry Wild Texas Downtime

Our apologies for the excessive downtime here on WildTexas.com the past 20+ hours or more, and more to the point, the erratic reliability for the past 30 to 45 days.

We may be moving servers/hosting companies soon as the situation we presently find ourselves in is absolutely not acceptable.

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Re: Wild Texas Downtime

The death and resurrection of our web server left many things broken. I am in the process of cleaning up the aftermath.

* The Your Photos section site-wide should be functioning normally again. Uploads were failing.

* The Parks pages should all be functioning now, but I've only had time to do spot checks.

* The Parks Search functionality is currently not functioning as desired. It is returning ALL parks in our database, regardless of search criteria.

* The "Web Guide" feature remains completely offline until further notice. I need to install, configure and populate the new software.

* The Driving Distance & Travel Time Calculator remains offline/non-functional until further notice.

If I have not mentioned a problem that you are aware of please reply to this thread and mention it as I quite likely am not aware of the issue yet.

Your continued patience is appreciated!

Also:
I've added "New Posts Since Your Last Visit" and "Recent/Today's Posts" links to both the WildTexas.com homepage, the WildTexas.com Talk (Discussion Forums), and the Wild Texans Camping Club forum pages. The links on the homepage EXCLUDE all the forums in the camping club, and the links in the camping club EXCLUDE all other forums. That way the two forums are kept essentially separate. I'm still working on search results.

Re: Wild Texas Downtime

Okay, gang... those of you who are still with me here...

I do not have an explanation yet for why our website was disabled early this morning and the following message put in its place by our web host:
Quote:
"Account Temporarily Disabled

This account has been temporarily disabled. If you are the owner of
this account and have questions about its status, please contact your
provider's technical support staff.

Thank you for your understanding."
Rest assured the moment we were aware of the issue (around 8-8:30 AM CST), we reported it to our web host. Unless I am mistaken, the website literally just came back online in the last 20 minutes or so and I have yet to receive insight into why we were disabled.

I thank you for your concern, those of you who contacted me through alternate means (as all @wildtexas.com email was also unavailable during the downtime). I also appreciate those of you who keep trying the website and resume your normal usage of the website when it returns. We appreciate your patronage and we are absolutely, keenly sorry for the continued server woes. We will get to the bottom of this ASAP.

I know I sound like a broken record. It's been this way for over a month now...
