Are the Wild Texans still going in October?

The thread has been quiet for weeks now. Is it just to early to think about it? Just wondering, trying to see how many might go.

Might want to link to the event thread so newbies and less frequent visitors know what you are referencing:

A weekend at Inks Lake State Park
October 6-9, 2006
Open to anyone and everyone -- kids, parents, etc.

Inaugural event of the Wild Texans Camping Club.

Justin and I will not be able to attend. Sorry. Roast some marshallows for us!

Re: Are the Wild Texans still going in October?

Hi All,

Just found out about this website and the Inks trip. All the campsites are taken.
My husband and I might come anyway since I have lots of family nearby. If anyone hears about a cancellation, or can't make the trip, I would appreciate a heads up.

Thanks,
Gail

Just because they're booked today doesn't mean they'll be booked solid tomorrow. Just keep checking every day & maybe something will open up!

Re: Are the Wild Texans still going in October?

Be sure to view the screen that shows availability for individual days. I saw no spots for the weekend dates when I searched a range, so I booked a primitive site for the weekend. I went back and saw Friday and Sunday had tent spots, but Saturday was full. So I cancelled the primitive spot, reserved a tent spot for Friday and Sunday and booked a primitive for Saturday night, hoping something opens.

Why beer is necessary for surviving while camping.

Re: Are the Wild Texans still going in October?

Hmmm. That's an interesting question. Up here in NE Texas I've had people comment on coffee. One person asked what Chicory was, the other mentioned he liked Hazelnut or something.

Maybe just an isolated event, or is there a standard coffee here or something?

I was raised, and still favor Community Coffee. The New Orleans Blend is a Chicory flavor and is DE-licious. I also like the medium and in-between blends.

Community Coffee is VERY good. Also, the local WalMart stocks a coffee called "Eight O'Clock". Get the dark roast beans and grind those; you will not be sorry. I take that back, it's French Roast. There is the red bag and the brown bag - get the brown.

I have to ask, why did you mention Chicory? I never thought anything of it, but the subject seems to be more common these days?

Thanks,
Jamie

...and great ALL the time:
