San Antonio cycling routes for visitor

I am heading to San Antonio on vacation and will be staying and the Hyatt on the West side of the city. I am considering taking my bike so I can get a daily ride in. I usually ride 25 - 30 miles. Are there any safe routes in this area. Being able to ride out of the hotel would be ideal but I will be able to drive if there is something worthwhile within 30 minutes of the hotel. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
