Good MTB in/around San Antone

Hello everyone,

I am moving back to Tejas to the San Antonio area from the Denver area. Needless to say, they have some good mountain biking out here, and I got hooked. So I am looking for some good trails down in the Hill Country to tear up. I love downhill (who doesn't), but don't mind a good hard climb either. Just wanted to start looking for areas to ride my mountain bike. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Good MTB in/around San Antone

Drop in at BikeWorld (three locations) in San Antonio and chat with the employees, other customers and pick up the brochures. You'll have more trails and routes to ride than you know what to do with!

Quickies, without links because I'm in a hurry:
* Hill Country State Natural Area
* McAllister Park
* OP Schnabel
* Canyon Lake (Madrone Trail)
* Leon Creek Greenbelt
* Rocky Hill Ranch
* Guadalupe River State Park

Check out BikeMojo.com's forums for other places to ride:

We'll be expanding the bicycling and MTB coverage here on WildTexas.com soon. Hubby and I love mountain biking, but right now hubby's training to participate in the MS150 "Bike to the Beach" -- 150 mile ride over two days from San Antonio to Corpus Christi, Texas. His blog is Bike Geek. Right now it's mostly road cycling but he has posted stuff from his various mountain biking rides as well (at least a couple).
