Woman pays $50k for cloned cat

An Austin, Texas, woman recently paid $50,000 for a clone of her deceased 17-year-old cat. The company which sold the cloned cat goes by the name of "Genetic Savings & Clone" and is the first company to offer cloned pets to paying customers.

For more information, visit the article on CNN.

When I mentioned this story to Justin, he brought up an excellent point. Cloning cats and dogs doesn't make sense when there are already so many more stray cats and dogs that NEED ADOPTION than there are people adopting them.

Also, cloning a deceased pet does not "bring them back" -- cloning cannot duplicate personality or an creature's "spirit".

What do you all think?
