My birthday!
I skimmed the article and see that some folks have been taking these wind farms to court to try and curtail their development (NIMBY's back! For the uninitiated or short of memory, NIMBY = Not In My BackYard... popularized when nuclear power was the darling of the USA, as well as when a prison or landfill or airport needs to be put in.)
The cases thus far have resulted in verdicts that allow the farms to be developed, and allow Texas to increase its wind energy output.
By the way, I thought it was interesting/notable that in the past two months or so I've seen several long-haul tractor trailers on the highway hauling the turbine blades of these wind farm windmills -- they are MASSIVE blades, that extend well beyond the length of a normal flatbed trailer. It really made me appreciate how large they are, even though I have seen them both from the air and from the ground when travelling in West Texas. (I find them beautiful, personally... artistic and not an eyesore... certainly more visually interesting to me than power lines or other things which we have all grown accustomed to seeing for many decades now.)
