Underwater or Under the Weather?

Hey Gang,

Just thought I was a little overdue to check in with you all. I hope those of you in Texas are faring with our torrential November weather alright -- it's so lush and green you'd almost mistake it for mid-April in some areas!

We've gotten a pounding here in San Antonio, including two tornado sightings last night (one not too far from where my parents and brother live), lots of flooding and high water rescues. A word out to all the First Responders who risk their lives saving people who do some really stupid, stupid things, or just get caught in a jam -- God Bless You All!

Everytime I think the rain's have dissipated I hear the familiar flutter of rain pounding ever-harder on the roof. Of course, with a tributary of Leon Creek behind our house (normally just a dry gully), we temporarily live on "waterfront property" until the waters subside... which won't be anytime soon, as long as the rains keep up.

So, please stay safe and tell your loved one's how much they mean to you. I'm not kidding. It's like smiling -- you can never do it too often (and if anyone looks at you weird, so be it!

In other updates, I've been offline for awhile due to Justin being sick for a week or so. We watched a lot of NetFlix movie rentals, played way too many computer games when he felt well enough to sit upright for awhile, and generally made total sloths of ourselves -- he had a reason, I was just doing it out of love and sympathy.

So, hope you are all faring okay and looking forward to the holidays. Let me know if I can assist with anything. I'm still looking into how and when to launch that photography contest that lost_but_found suggested awhile back. And my "to do" list still includes some new trip reports, and continued development on all those new park profiles I promised (I've completed about 30 or 40.)

Take it Easy,

- Shannon
