This website was mentioned in the Nov 5th San Antonio Express-News regarding the damage that occurs from "mountaintop removal" for coal mining. Very worth taking a look...

I unfortunately am limited by what I can view since I'm utilizing a military computer but I would have never guessed. It's like back in the gold rush days when they would devastate entire mountains by pressure washing to extract the gold. This seems like our version of cutting down the rain forests.
