within 100 miles of houston - Wild Texas Forums: Parks, Travel & Recreation

hello i'm new to this site and i already love it. i need some help finding a place within 100 miles from houston that i can take my family swimming and camping for only 2 days. somewhere besides galveston. any small lakes will be fine i plan to do this during a wednesday and thrusday therefore i need some thing close.

Try Chain O Lakes Resort (www.colresort.com) NE of Cleveland. Don't know about the distance from Houston but the kids will love the spring fed swimming area, complete with water slide.

Chain o lakes......Been a while since I've seen that place.
Have to agree it could be the closest swimming that is not bath water....Unless you visit beautiful Houston County Lake
