Who here is a tent camper?
We're tent campers from Dallas and would love to get a camping trip going with other people.

Tent Campers here in Austin too!
We're headed to Garner this weekend. We hope to get at least one more trip in before the end of the year (I don't handle the cold real well, lol!).
Would love to join up with a bunch of other campers. There was a bit of interest previously so hopefully some others will speak up. I'll be watching!

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
Would love you join y'all but we're headed to New England to enjoy the fall color and see an elderly aunt in New Hampshire. The most unfortunate part is we won't be camping!

Oh, I love the fall in the Northeast!! Hopefully the colors are 'showy' this year. Have a blast!
Maybe we can get enough interest going for a trip in early November....
Anyone?!

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
We are tent campers too. Headed to Brazos Bend on October 19th for a two nighter. We did choose a campsite with a shelter this time just for the sake of cooking convenience. Plan on a little bike riding and some gator watching. We are hoping for some cooler weather to enjoy a campfire in the evening. Also going to Garner/Frio River for the New Years break but that will be at a private owned facility called Camp LiveOak with some small cabins. Can't wait for either one as I am ready for some adventures.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
Can I still claim tent camping even though I haven't camped in two years (with good reason)? Sara's just 6.5 months old now and if you add in pregnancy, there goes well over a year! We took her on an overnight to Buescher and Bastrop State Parks a couple weekends ago, but we stayed in one of the mini cabins due to the heat.
Justin and I actively camped when we were younger and less busy, and we plan to raise Sara with lots of camping trips and park visits.

We do the RV thing, but I always bring a tent to camp with my girls, even if it is just next door.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
We have rented a travel trailer twice and I loved the convenience of it but we have so many friends that have them that don't get the use versus the cost so we just don't do it. Maybe when I win the lottery. When we plan longer trips we will take one, as you see, I WILL INSIST.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
I've been tenting here in Fort Worth for several years now. Haven't been in a RV since I was a kid, but I prefer the tent. It just seems like less of a hassle; I throw a few things in the truck and go.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
I'm curious how many of you that have answered this are moms/wives? I'm was a stay-at-home mom until August when we dropped our daughter off at college. I think it would be fun do do a camping trip with hubbys but sometimes it's more fun to do a girl's camping trip (sorry guys). Anyone interested?

/raising hand New, first-time momma here, even though I'm {cough} 34 years old (35 in late December.) Justin and I have been married 9 years as of December, and together for {double cough} 19 years as of same... we were high school sweethearts, even though we attended different school districts.
Anyway, enough background, I am still gently trying to ease back into my "old self". I'm in San Antonio, but have family (brother-in-law and niece and nephew) up Dallas-way.

Reason: noting I'm closer to 35 than 34, now. /sniffle

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
Well, like Shannon, my husband and I were also highschool sweethearts. We've been married 12 years now and together 19. (I'm 35... okay in another 2 weeks I'll be 36, but STILL! LOL!)
We have a 7 year old daughter and have been trying to fit in camping whenever our busy schedules permit.
I'd say a girl's camping trip sounds like it could be a blast!

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
Our kids are 10, 8, 4, and almost 2. We need a new tent cause ours got worn out! We had so many camping trips to Mustang Island, a few during thunderstorms, that the poles have snapped and we had to order new ones...and have residual sand in it at all times. It's been to Mustang Island, Big Bend and many places in between. Mager's River camp always was the spot for our church's mother-daughter campout every fall, until we moved up to Ft. Worth. But I had to take the baby boy along too if he was nursing ! I only have one girl so I couldn't miss it. Lots of father-son scout campouts too. I've never camped in anything other than a small tent. I was just thinking of posting for advice on what to get next...we need a bigger tent at least, but one that can withstand the beach winds if we decide to keep beach camping. It's a bit further now.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?
Not a tent-camper here (50+ years don't do the ground thing really well anymore--LOL!) BUT a single mom with a pop up camper. My son (10) & I go all over with the camper. Just got back from McKinney Falls and the Texas Parks & Wildlife Expo there in Austin this past weekend.
We love camping! Even if it's not in a tent!!
