Re: Who here is a tent camper?

If you younger girls want to hang with us "older" ones, I'm game. I'm 52 though I'm told I look in my 30's (works for me!!). I've been married 21 yrs. but not to my H.S. sweetheart.

It's time the hubbies take care of the little ones, don't you think? Time for a girls trip... giggles, etc. What do you think? November? We can all meet at a central spot in Dallas to discuss it first.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?

NO more tenting here...when it rained for two solid days and not a lot of room in a tent with kids, we got out.
Like they say...'once you get off the ground you'll never go back'. To easy to just throw in some food and hookup and Gone....Love it.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?

Well, seeing how this is an old thread, I'm guessing we never got this out of the discussion stage. What about this Spring? I am a separated mom of an 8 YO boy....we are avid tent campers.

Almost tenters here.
Sleep in the SUV, with a canopy tent.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?

I like to consider myself a tent camper. I have my first trip planned on spring break in March in Lake Fausse Point State Park in Louisiana. My second trip I'm hoping to take sometime in May, but not sure if I'm gonna go Inks Lake State Park or Hill Country SNA.

Re: Who here is a tent camper?

My husband and I are definitely tent campers. I've done the whole rv/camper get-up, and it is a pain! We like to go camping to get away from the conventional life and slow down for a few days. How can you do that while pulling something that you have to pay extra gas for, you have to worry about being able to park it somewhere and also hooking it up, paying extra money to park it and hook it up, the list can go on forever. Also, waking up in something that is a miniature version of your home is not our idea of camping! Tent camping allows you to enjoy nature more too since the only thing you do in a tent is sleep and change your clothes. For some reason, people seem compelled to spend their time camping cooped up in their camper/rv when they bring them.
