I am off for my first state park expirience, well, camping anyway! Being that I grew up in a small town on the llano river, all of my camping expiriences have been on friend or family owned private land, I have never felt the desire to venture out into the state park system, however in the past year or so having spent a good deal of time in Port Aransas, Mustang Island area, I realized I have been missing an opportunity to expand what I feel is an already strong foundation in outdoorsman-ship using the state parks system! This coupled with my recent new addiction, kayaking, and my old one of fishing has brought me here, and to reserve myself a campsite later this week at Inks Lake State Park, I have found a great deal of information here at wildtexas and I appreciate everyones advice. I am a bit leary of my lack of privacy/solitude but I am excited as well to begin to learn new places in a way that only camping can accomplish!
