Do you want to be right on the water? I was going to suggest Guadalupe River SP, but I don't think you can camp right at the water's edge. But I love that place!

This was my first thought. The area is called Wagon Ford Walk-In Tent Area. Not directly on the river but very close. This area of the park is quite old with very large trees and abundant shade. Tent camping only and if your there during the week, you could be the only ones in the area. The deer really like this part of the park during the week. Would love to be able to get my "5th" in there but that would ruin it. Great area in a greater park.

Got more info on GRSP if your interested. Just ask and I'll put some links up. Hope we were some help and happy camping!

Try Sulfer Spring. It's down the road from Colorado State Park near San Saba

Re: tent camping near a river

Tons of places along the Guadalupe. River road is full of camping areas. Lazy L&L comes to mind. I think it is at Devils Playground.

Of course I go in the winter or late fall and have had pllaces to ourselves. This time of year could be crowded.
As Mentioned White Water Sports is nice and has the 45 tube loop....Cold water too!
