Shannon, might have found your answer for keeping Baby Sara cool for camping trips. My daughter got this for a Chrismas present and I finally put it in her tent. It's called the Outdoor Advantage Connection tent ac boot.Installed it 2 days ago with a 5500 ac and it really works great,I can't wait too see how it does when summer really gets here.My brother got it for 100 bucks. At the web site even has tents with the boots already installed. It was'nt hard at all to install, just do it in a well vented area.My daughters tent is a Coleman cabin type .Shoot I might start tent camping again, less gas then pulling the Prowler or Pop up,(now just the right air mattress)?
srds
Great Trips
How cool is that thing?! I have already sent this link to a few of my fellow tent campers that use window unit ACs in their tents (I have a portable ac and only have to factor in the exhaust hose).
For some of my friends that use a normal window unit, it could be a challenge getting in & out of the tent because they zipped the tent door around the unit and then tucked towels into the gaps. Every time they went in & out the whole set-up had to be redone; not to mention that you had to step over the AC to get in & out because it sat right in front of the entrance.
Window units are a lot cheaper than the portable ACs and I think they work a little better than the portable ones do. The tent that I own now has windows all around that go almost from top to bottom so there is no place for me to install the boot but, if I still had my old Coleman Weathermaster, I would buy one of these things in a flash!
