Spring Break in North Central Texas

We just made reservations for Spring Break. I have not had off from work for Spring Break in 23 years. ( Yes, I have been working retail for that long, and yes I really am THAT old.) I'm excited to get a break with my son and go somewhere new.

Lake Brownwood 1 night
Copper Breaks 4 nights
Fort Richardson 2 nights

We'll stop by Lake Arrowhead and Lake Mineral Wells while traveling.

Re: Spring Break in North Central Texas

Sounds like a fun trip to a variety of parks. I have plenty of good memories about Brownwood and really need to plan a trip out that way. The old buildings at Fort Richardson are interesting, but the park is close to the industrial district so it is hard to feel like you have gotten away. Spent the better part of a night watching a whole herd of skunks invade our site at Mineral Wells one year. When all that is seperating you from one of them is a half mil of nylon, and another one looking at you thru the screen, sleep is hard to come by!
Enjoy your little get away.

For a review of Fort Richardson see
http://wildtexas.com/talk/introducti...gned-2031.html

We were there this year and I forgot the camera battery

We stayed down below (there is an upper and lower area all conected )and did not have any industrial feel, the park has a number of full service RV sites that you pass to go down below. but we would return , and if you catch them recreating its even better

CM, no plans yet, when one doesn't even recognize when spring break really is (you know your getting old) my last "adult" in college is home next week, (first week of March) of course I am out of town all week.

Our schedules are a mess but hope to fit something in.Happy camping
