Talking Riverfront camping/ light off-roading?

Hi ya'll, so happy I found this board. I was just wanting to get some input from some folks as to the best places to find some riverfront camping. I would also like to find a park that has some light off-roading. Nothing major, just old dirt roads, light gravel, sand, things like that. I can't have any extremes(stock '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4). I know Big Bend offers these but I am looking for something a little closer to San Antonio, it is just a 3 day trip so I don't want to spend half my time driving to the park. Any suggestions would be great.
