PINS & Mustang Island SP & funny camping story

I did find some info from my PINS posting last year but wanted a comparison if anyone has one between Mustang Island or PINS on Memorial Day weekend. We usually do not try and camp anywhere on a Holiday but vacation is over for me and my husband just started a new job last week so this is about our only option....or 4th of July but I figure it will be more crowded Labor Day we are going to relatives.

I've purused the websites for each SP but would love any other input about crowding, peace and quiet, etc...I want to rest, listen to the waves, eat, and walk down the beach for miles my son and I love that.

The last time I put up the tent about 7 years ago when I divorced and got custody of the camping equipment...I have my priorities ya know? And, we had been out on a friend's jetski for hours that day and I realized when I got home that my purse was missing. I figured that it had been stolen.

Now, 7 years later my new husband (I upgraded lol) and I decided to go to lake Lavon for the weekend unrolled the tent and lo and behold THERE is my purse I thought I lost rolled up in the tent!!! Still had the $35.00 in my wallet and a business card from a long lost friend I had not spoken to in the 7 years as well called him and he was STILL at the same number and we are back in touch with each other.

The only shocker was how much you can change from one driver's license to another... I keep the old DL just to prove that once upon a time I was attractive.

MISP is busier but does offer water and electric whereas PINS is strickly dry camping. Looks like you'll be camping in a tent, so unless you require these utilities, you're better off at PINS, in my opinion.

Oh thank YOU the pics are wonderful and JUST what I have wanted, and to chose what to do with our options. I will take pics and send them on.

I am going to go stare at the beach front photos for awhile, I can hear the wave crashing now.

Thanks again,

Karen
