One of the best camping experiences was here for us......

Just wanted to let you guys know about this place. Its family owned by some real real nice folks. They have 3 log cabins( full ameneties) that would make Martha Stewart jealous, plus a real nice travel trailer they rent also. This campground consisted of the above units and that was it. They do have plans of expanding. When we went it was unlike any other camping trip. They are off the beaten path without a doubt, about a mile and a 1/2 down a caliche road off of a 2 lane paved road. They have a creek they dammed up and stocked with fish. Plus swimming for the kids, also some trails for the kids to explore. This was the first campground I have ever been too to where I felt comfortable leaving the kids racing bikes unchained( when we left for Leaky Tx for the day), doors on cabin unlocked at night. They have fishing poles and the like available to use. The owners were just the nicest folks you could want to meet. Our boys constantly ask about going there.

Forgot to add that they have like 3 or 4 TT sites also.

Nice to know. We used to camp at Bill Fernalds place in Utopia before he turned it to a camp.
They listed RV sites but never showed much. Are they close to the water, roomy or close?
It is beautiful out that way. In fact I wanted to move out there before coming to Crockett. Obviously I was overuled!

A Peace of HEaven sounds nice, but I hate it when the owners keep 50% of your deposit EVEN IF the site is rented out again. Doesn't seem fair to me.

Thought the "deposit" deal a bit steep and a few other costs a bit much until I found the base price. If the sites are level and in good shape, $20 per night is a very good price for "full hook-up". I know one state park that charges $25 per night for "full hook-up" . Any who, might have to keep this place in mind.

Happy Camping!

The TT sites are the closest to the creek area. From what I remember they were pretty level. There were a couple nice 5th wheels set up. The cabins,TT sites are in one area. I guess all the sites/cabins were spaced out about like the sites at the Guadelupe State park.
The dammed area of the creek was about 100- 150 yrds long and about 20-25 foot wide( were you see the kid on the swing rope @ their site). We caught all kinds of perch and catfish on hotdogs and bacon. The kids had a blast, as soon as you drop your line in you had a bite. Turned into a real workout for me.......keeping the hooks baited
