new Braunfels

Hello All!

We were just asked to join some friends at New Braunfels 8/8 - 8/12. Has anyone been that way lately? I have heard that the river is way to high to tube and that some parts are still closed. Anyone got an update?

Thanks!

Local New Braunfels paper:
http://herald-zeitung.com/

Just last week two people died on the Guadalupe. One was a soldier who was trying to swim across the river & the other flipped a raft & got caught on it & was stuck under the bridge in Gruene.

The Comal River (in town) is normally always ready for tubers. But with all the rain the Guadalupe river is just not too safe right now for tubing.

Thank you both! We have been trying to decide if it is worth the trip up and your input is greatly appreciated! We may just put it off until later. Thanks again!

Re: new Braunfels

We're still actively getting rain all this week, and judging by the "riverfront" backyard we have right now (we live off a seasonal creekbed in San Antonio), most rivers are at or above flood stage right now and for the foreseeable future. It's going to be awhile before the Guadalupe is tube-able.

Here's another New Braunfels, TX Weather Forecast & Current Conditions link
