Need campsite I can fish on

I am looking for a campsite that is on the water that we can fish at. We have two children who will be sleeping in our RV and we would like to sit out and fish without the RV being out of site. We also need to know if we will be able to have a campfire there.
Thanks

If Texas is your destination, this is a great place for family and fishing. You can fish on the bank and have your RV near you. I have stayed there recently and if you like to catch catfish, this is the spot for you! Here is their website...http://www.riverranchrvpark.net

Well, we can certainly help you out by suggesting some places. First I think we need to know where you are and how far you want to travel. Texas is a big place.

You may want to view this page about Family Fish.

First two that came to mind were Huntsville and Lake Livingston. Of course , as mentioned where you are located might make a difference

Re: Need campsite I can fish on

I apologize for not giving more details. Thank you so much for the link to Family Fish. I looked at it and it was great.

We live in Austin. My parents recently bought an RV and we are dying to use it, but we have never been camping before. We have two boys who will love to fish and take small walks. They are more interested in building a campfire and making smores. We nned to be able to swim in the water, because they will not be able to handle too long of a strech of heat without cooling off.

Thanks again for you suggestions.

We are willing to drive anywhere in Texas, but the closer to Austin we are, the sooner we can start camping.
Last night I saw this place called Lazy L&L in New Braunfels. Has anyone ever heard of it?

Welcome aboard and hope we can help. Don't know where your coming from or how far you'd like to go but here's a short list of State Parks that have waterfront sites. Going to make them "clickable" links so you can get more info. I and others can answer questions about any of them. Would recommend any of them as great places to camp.
Lake Mineral Wells State Park
Cleburne State Park
Ray Roberts State Parks (either Unit)
Inks Lake State Park
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions.

Happy Camping!

Re: Need campsite I can fish on

I am coming from the Austin area. This will be our first time to go camping as a family, so we would really like for it to be a good experience for the kids and for ourselves. Has anyone been to Lazy L&L? It looks nice, but we are clueless as to what exactly to look for. We just want a place right on the water where we can fish and the kids can swim. Also, the kids are really looking forward to making smores. Can we build a campfire at most places?

The fire depends on whether there is a burn ban on at the county level. You may always make a charcoal fire in your BBQ grill that you bring.

Lazy L and L is nice, but the RV spots are not on the river.
