I've never been RVing, but I'm willing to bet that the cheapest places to camp in an RV are probably at a state park campground, and not at a private campground. I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that most state park campgrounds will charge just about the same amount for an RV hookup at any of their parks. click on the "parks" button in the menu to the left- you should be able to find a place you are interested, and be able to find more information as to where RV hookups exist and how much they cost. there may be a free alternative, but I have no idea how to find those. at any rate, good luck, and have fun.

Hi Peaceincountry. Blessings for you and your son as you guys enjoy the wonderfull outdoors!
The st park campsites are the most reasonable. With water and electricity they averag around $14 a day. Tent sites are half that. There is a $3 charge per person added to that. If you camp a lot buying a conservation passport for $50 will get you in the park for a year and everyone in your vehickle eliminating the $3 per person per day charge. The state parks tend to fill out pretty quick these days for the weekends with peope making reservations in advance for the more popular parks. I believe there are links on this website or you can type in Texas parks and wildlife to go to there site and read about any site you may be interested in to visit.

Check out the following website, appropriately named FreeCampgrounds.com <-- this links you to their "Texas" section.
