I am going climbing with my boyfriend in Enchanted Rock the weekend of Oct. 27th through the 29th. Unfortunately, the only camping spots available are the primitive ones where you cannot start a fire. We are looking to share a non-primitive campsite and will pay cost of site. Please help and give advice.

I would so totally go in on that if I were reserved that weekend...

My family and I just returned from a weekend out there and had a marvelous time...but boy, was it ever crowded!

I would suggest u take the primitive site and wait to see if anyone bails on their reservation.

Thanks remcycle, I appreciate the reply! I think thats exactly what we were going to do, I was just hoping to get lucky and find someone going the same weekend!

No problem!

If it's at all encouraging, even though they turned people away and said it was full last weekend, there were still open sites all over the place.

There's also a private place with a ton of room about halfway back to Llano if you don't mind making a 15 minute drive to the Rock. Most people don't know about it and don't even bother making the drive out that far when they find out from town that the state park is full.
