Group Camping around DFW Area

Is there a club or group of people that get together once a month and maybe camp around the DFW area?

We go camping a lot and would be fun to have a "Meet & Greet" at a location around DFW.

We are headed to Cooper State Park this coming weekend.

Just curious

Re: Group Camping around DFW Area

You might try The North Texas Camping Association. They're a pretty active group with a good number of trips going on. Used to be The North Texas Pop-Up Camping Association but but changed it as some started going to the "dark side" and getting TT's, hybrids and "5th's". When I was a member there were still a good number of pop-ups but don't know what the percentage is now. I was a member for a number of years but our work schedule just didn't allow for us to be out on the weekends. Of course, that's when this and most clubs have their gatherings. Only was able to squeeze in one trip with the club. Hope this helps and,

Happy Camping!

That group mentioned is one of the more active groups.

As far as Cooper, South Sulpher Unit is a great place, check out the beach, they have fishing piers also and a hiking trail, not much on the north side of Cooper Lake

Will check out the North Texas Camping club. Thanks !!

And we really like Cooper (South Sulphur). Very clean and when the water is up high enough, the beach is very nice. Should be this weekend from all the rain we have had
