To anyone going to park they have one of the new restroom and shower houses up and running, they are the new unisex ones.Very nice with a lot of room.Rangers said the other 2 should be up and running in the coming weeks.

Re: Galveston State Park

i like to fish and we go in the fall (for redfish run) will check it out.
but that would be nice because it seems the 'guys' shower is more busy than the womens.

Re: Galveston State Park

Srds or others any live experiences with the unisex rest rooms?
We saw them at Lake Tawakani SP and wondered how the lines would be on shower night with the girls (sorry girls seem to shower in paks) We have a trailer and showered in the regular restroom so we were not effected.

But now if that's the only room you have to wait to go (men and women) you can not just run in and the showers do not matter.

Re: Galveston State Park

I used one of these new facilities on Fathers Day after a great day of Boogie Boarding with my kids. The camping loop nearest the headquarters is the one that I visited. If you stand looking at the building with your back to the beach you will see the doors to the shower stalls. The restroom entrances are on the other side. I like the idea of separating the showers from the toilets - less humid in the restroom. The leftmost stall worked great but I heard that the the rightmost stall had flooded. I hope they have built in sand cleanouts! Each has a sink with a couple of towel hooks and a wall divider as a splash guard for the shower.
The day use facility was being prepared June 15 and I hope it is of the same style.
