Re: Fall Camping

Cool crisp mornings, being able to enjoy the campfire up close, stars seem brighter in the night sky during the fall (pollution blown away?)...just a few of my favorite things about fall camping

Re: Fall Camping

When the leaves turn (and its not your yard ), the campfire (and now cook stove) warms up that first cup of coffee while a deer runs through the next campsite, when you hear their favorite scarry story around the campfire near Halloween. Guess I need to go soon

Re: Fall Camping

I love the cool weather, camps seem less crowded, fish are bitting better, the fall colors, and campfires with smores.Everyone always in a better mood when it cools down a little.I guess thing only part I miss is the swiming, but we still try to anyway. I can hardly wait for our trip Inks Lake-Texas Expo-then up to Arkansas-Crater of Diamonds. These is my wifes Family Reunion and it just keeps growing. So far over 60 families rsvp back to report they will be here and there,I guess the diet is going to get fudged on a lit'l.

Re: Fall Camping

The clear crisp air, enjoying the campfire up close, the deer moving a bit more, the colors changing, being away from my normal routine (we don't camp in the summer much), ...oh man! Is it thanksgiving yet?!!! The Hill Country is calling my name!!! I need my "fix"!!

Re: Fall Camping

I'll go one step further.. winter camping! The cool air allows for more enjoyable dry camping. And as someone else mentioned, the stars do seem brighter.

Best of all NO BUGS!

Re: Fall Camping

Y'all are making me home sick. I want to get back to nature so so bad. But I'm stuck in floriduh. the campgrounds around here are so nasty. TBH most of the camp ground that are close have people living in them that have lost there homes to foreclosure. That kind of spoils it.
