Question Choke Canyon State Park?

So, has anyone been recently? I've searched for recent reviews but haven't been able to find anything except a picture of a dried up lake that is supposed to be one fo the lakes at the State Park. Oh oh.

So, we've never been there at all but from the pictures and old reviews I could find it looks like it has plenty of briding and wildlife viewing (not to mention some good catfishin')... has the drought affected these activities as well?!

And for those of you that have been... any favorite spots? We're in a 21foot TT.

Any other tips/comments about this park?

Thanks a bunch!!

Re: Choke Canyon State Park?

Been there a few times this year. The lake is low (or was, don't know what this recent rain has done) and there is a fishing type lake inside the state park but it was really low when we where there.
I would say the main focus of Choke is the outstanding fishing, outside of that there isn't a lot to do. You could do some wildlife watching and hiking, plenty of deer and turkeys in the state park.
Be aware of the huge alligators in the area...not a place to let dogs and small kids swim imo.
