http://swf67.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/canyon/PCpark.htm

I have vague memories of having tent camped at a Canyon Lake park years ago. I will say that corp. parks are usually better maintained and cleaner than State parks.
The only criticism is the reyturn by ten rule. The gates get locked at 10:00 wheter your in or not.

Thumbs up Re: canyon lake

just got back from our trip to potters creek at canyon lake.what a great trip, this is a very clean park.plenty of space, great swimming ,good fishing, and close to town.this park has 109 rv spots/18.00 a nite(water&elec) 7 screen shelters/$34.00/nite,plus 4 family sites(3 rv sites)-$54.00/nite.good hot showers, boat ramp-dump station.i was worried about the gate closing ,but they have a 24hr emer gate.the phone#is 830-964-3341.we went hoping to get into some crappie ,and we did in 20 foot in the brush piles on the south end of the lake.we ended up catching 42 fish over our 4 day trip.we also caught 3 nice catfish(blues) and 9 bass.i will be back at this park in the spring when the crappie are spawning.
have a great day

Re: canyon lake

It's first-come-first-served, right? No reservations?

Re: canyon lake

Funny, I was at Canyon Lake yesterday and thought about Potters creek. Unfortunately I was on my motorcycle heading back to Crockett fron Bandera (had to do river road) and was short on time.

Were the sites large or did they stack em in...as far as r,v,'s

Smile Re: canyon lake

In the web site for potters creek it says "first come first serve"(www.swf.usace.army.mil)But in the handout it has"call 830-964-3341 for reservations"? I already had friends camping 2 days before we arrived.

TO
COPUSWALKER:
The campsites have plenty of space between sites ,and almost all of them are on the lake.We had sites 28-29-30-31 and they all had plenty of room for our group of 22.
