Shannon:

waaaaaaaay OT, but I was curious: Given gas prices at pumps, what is av fuel going for, and how much do you burn per hour?

A lot of people like living on the edge. I am one of those but my wife has clipped my feathers
So now you're running for school board. That's living on the edge. If elected, wait until the parents dig their claws into you.....nevermind ruffling a few feathers.

The price for the 100 octane gas we use in the Cessna Skyhawk varies dramatically from airport to airport. The big airports are charging almost $4 a gallon while the small, country airports charge as low as $2.50 a gallon.

The Skyhawk we fly burns between 8-10 gallons per hour.

Re: Campsites with no rangers!

PS: We (Justin) flies rented Cessnas, usually out of Wright Flyers at San Antonio International Airport. Justin would love to have his own aircraft, and perhaps someday in the future we may, but for now we're like most General Aviation enthusiasts -- renting our winged chariot for each flight.

If you're a regular here and ever want a "$100 hamburger", let me know. That's what pilots call a meal they have after flying in somewhere, since it's a little under what rental costs are for 1 hour of engine time.

Hey, if you two want to fly into Whitney SP some time, I'd be glad to cook the 'burgers! Wouldn't charge you a thing! Talk about your "free lunch"! Yeah! Right!

Happy Camping and/or Flying!

I was lucky Todd, Lost by 5 votes. Did attend the next two meetings and was delighted I lost.
You are correct with the parents. I told the wife if you could bottle the hatred and turn it into electricity you could power Crockett for a year.

Best part is I tried to do my civic duty and it cost me nothing Some folks ask if I will run again..."Hell no " is my answer. Considering there is no pay or percs it is insane to really "want" the job!!

Thanks for pointing it out!!
