    Camping near San jacinto Monument?

Does anyone know of any camping areas kinda close to the San Jacinto Monument? There's a VW car show coming up in a few weeks and we're looking for a spot for Sat nite to camp in our old 1965 VW Westfalia Camper.
    Thanks

That depends on what kind of area you want and how far you want to travel.
The Troop visited the monument while straying at Galveston Island SP but thats a haul. Houston Leisure RV Resort in Highlands, TX 77562
Local Phone: (281) 426-3576 Toll Free: (800) 982-8285 is close,
There is also a KOA in Houston, and some other RV parks along 45 south.
Brazos Bend SP via Alvin is a haul also. Will do more research

Troop198 is right, not much in the immediate area. We used to live in Deer Park, just down the road. Your best bet would probably be the suggestion in the Highlands area or something in Baytown, but I really can't think of anything. Good luck.
