We are planning a trip between Christmas and New Year. There will be our family (including two boys, 9 and 14) and our friends (with two girls 12 and 15 and a boy aged 9). We will be tent camping and looking for a site with good facilities - clean and modern showers and toilets are essential. Would like a site that has a well laid out area for pitching the tents also. If the site has tent pitches with electric hook-ups and lighting that would be great as well! In the local area we are looking for somewhere that has interesting places to visit and good places to walk.
We bought our tent last year when we evacuated to escape the hurricane and stayed in New Mexico for a few days and had a great time there. We have not used it since but would like to do so more in the future.
Are there any good publications showing camp sites in Texas and around the country in general?
Our location is The Woodlands, about 40 miles north of Houston.
